MACH is looking for an experienced and professional Business Intelligence (BI) Application Developer.

Job description

As a Business Intelligence (BI) Application Developer, your main responsibilities will include the design, development and delivery of BI applications within MACH for a worldwide user basis.

Therefore we are looking for a strong BI professional with a found development background. You should have experience in very large databases, multidimensional modeling and one of the leading OLAP tools (preferably MicroStrategy) bringing BI functionality to the end users in a large scale, high data volume and high availability environment.

Based in Luxembourg, you will have regular contact with our colleagues and offices all over the world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect, design and implement MACH’s BI platform for a worldwide user basis
  • Translate business requirements into advanced analytical applications
  • Interface with our product managers and jointly drive the development of MACH’s BI services
  • Define and enhance the BI framework and guidelines used by our development teams
  • Research and evaluate new technologies, design and prototype new BI products

Required Skills and Background
  • At least 4 years of development experience in Data Warehousing / Business Intelligence domain
  • Proven track record in star schema modeling implementing a data warehouse bus architecture
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Oracle in the area of advanced PL/SQL programming and tuning
  • Experience with Oracle 10gR2 in high data volume installations, knowledge of MPP data warehouse appliances (e.g. Netezza) is a strong plus.
  • Experience with at least one major OLAP tool (preferably MicroStrategy)
  • Experience in developing and deploying web based BI applications to a large extranet user basis
  • At least 2 years of software development experience with Java 1.6 and the following frameworks / tools: Java Servlets 2.4, Spring 2.5, JDBC, Hibernate 3.4, Web Start, NetBeans, Tomcat 5+, Oracle Weblogic 8.1+, JUnit, Fitnesse, Hudson, Ant/Maven, SVN
  • Full development lifecycle in an Agile methodology (incl. test driven development, continuous integration), change and release management
  • Experience in mobile roaming business or telecommunications background is a strong plus
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • You enjoy working in an international and multi-cultural company with colleagues from all over the world
  • Your track record shows that you meet set goals and milestones
  • Able to work in a fast-changing fast-paced environment meeting deadlines and prioritize tasks
  • Able to fully understand the business process and design technical solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English – any additional language is a plus
  • A background from a telecommunications company will be an additional advantage
  • Strong and effective interpersonal skills, team player

A valid work permit for Luxembourg is required.
