MACH’s first Spanish-speaking Regional Training Seminar in Latin America – A true success!

MACH recently organised a Regional Training Seminar specifically for Latin American operators. With GSM subscriber numbers in Latin America over 220 million and rising; roaming is certainly big business for operators who are keen to learn the latest industry developments and issues. Latin America takes 10% of the current GSM worldwide coverage and is a growth area for future roaming and investments.
Held in Panama City on 10-12th July 2007, the Seminar proved to be a huge success and was attended by a large variety of operators from all over Central and South America.
The Seminar ran for three days and covered the essential roaming topics – Roaming Principles, TAP & Finance and Roaming Development.
MACH’s expert, Milja Hofman presented most of the training modules and was assisted by Sales & Account Manager Fabio Pereira, who referred to his previous experience as Roaming Manager at a South American operator. For the full three days Fabio de Almeida was available for clients to discuss new MACH Solutions.
Theory was combined with practice, as each day’s training concluded with interactive workshops in which the participants could structure and present their knowledge in a creative manner.
Business & Pleasure
A dinner event was organised for the evening of the first day. The group went to Restaurant Barko on the Peninsula close to the venue of the hotel. During the second day, a two-hour tour was organised to visit the Panama Channel. Participants were very enthusiastic to see the famous Panama landmark and happy to have the opportunity of enjoying both the MACH Seminar as well as seeing the beautiful country of Panama.
Feedback from the attendees was extremely positive. Participants appreciated the quality of the course but also enjoyed the atmosphere and the networking opportunities throughout the Seminar.
MACH looks forward to returning to Latin America for next year’s Regional Seminar!
