Record attendance at MACH’s Regional Meeting #2 - MEA
On 15-16 April 2008, MACH had the chance to once again welcome our clients from the Middle East and Africa region to the annual MACH Regional Meeting in Dubai.
The Dubai office is the base for all MACH activities in the MEA markets. Attendance was excellent with clients from the entire region – from Liberia to Afghanistan and Tunisia down to South-Africa – as well as non-clients, joining us for the event.
On the first day MACH’s CCO, Terence Ledger provided an overview of market trends and strategic direction for the future. Tom Heereman’s GM of MACH MEA discussed how these trends would impact on the global, regional and country markets.
Clients had the chance to hear more about MACH’s new break-through innovations for the industry, such as the revolutionary Link2One roaming hub. Case study presentations were provided by influential operators, and MACH clients; MTN Group and Batelco.
Day two of the event was dedicated to the industry’s current hot topic – NRTRDE. Client testimonials were presented, highlighting how MACH has played a vital role in helping numerous operators with establishing internal and external procedures for NRTRDE compliancy.
Nicolas A.Schaker, Deputy General Manager Karabakh Telecom Armenia presented an operator case study on NRTRDE and explained what led Karabakh to choose MACH to set-up this procedure both internally and externally.
During the afternoon, it was time to mix business with pleasure and experience the many wonders of Dubai.
The group drove to the desert in a convoy of large 4x4s and split into teams, enjoyed a variety of exciting activities including quad biking, sand ‘snow’ boarding and camel riding.
For the evening, the group drove out even further into the desert for a spectacular sound & light show depicting the first days of Arabia, followed by a sumptuous dinner in the beautiful surroundings and atmosphere.
Following the event, many clients chose to continue their fun and learning, and stay on for the two-day MACH Training Seminar, which featured a new programme of topics and focus on NRTRDE.
"We would like to express our deepest gratitude for the invitation to the well prepared and extremely informative regional seminar and the great hospitality that was provided. The material that was presented was very useful and interesting, plus we had a wonderful and memorable time with the MACH team and other colleagues." Nicolas A.Schaker, Deputy General Manager, Karabakh Telecom Armenia.
MACH would like to extend a huge thanks to all attendees who made this event such a special and successful event. MACH Dubai looks forward to seeing them again next year!
